We hope your Monday is off to a beautiful start. It feels like Spring is FINALLY here and for that we are so thankful. There is nothing we love more than being able to enjoy days of sunshine outside. But, that isn't always possible when we have things like jobs and other obligations that may keep us indoors. Which brings us to today's topic for our #MindfulnessMonday: sacrifice.
Sacrifice seems to come with a somewhat negative connotation and one of loss, but we are trying to look at it from a more gainful perspective. For example, in our work, we often have to work on weekends, beautiful sunny weekends where our friends may be enjoying brunch on a patio or listening to music on a grassy field, we might be inside teaching a class, or working on a retreat schedule or getting to our inbox full of emails. And so, in pursuit of our dream of working as a yoga teacher, we must sacrifice the mimosas and the grass stains with friends. But, this sacrifice is getting us to where we want to be. It is getting us to that amazing life changing retreat, it is getting us to experience that practice with exciting new people. It is essentially getting us to this very moment.
Life is all about balance and seeing the bigger picture. So, yes, sometimes we may have to make sacrifices, but if they are in pursuit of your dreams, then they are not a loss at all, but rather a major gain towards realizing all that you desire.
And maybe sometimes they aren't. Maybe sometimes things just happen and we have to shift our priorities and put our needs to the side and that is just life. Let's trust that it will all work out as it should, so long as we trust the process and enjoy the ride, however windy, bumpy, scary or long it can be. Know it will all be worth it, and it will!
