Happy Monday! We hope you had an excellent weekend and are feeling ready to make this week AMAZING! We don't know what your social calendar looks like these days, but ours is PACKED, specifically with weddings and wedding related events, which is awesome and beautiful and makes us so happy to participate in, but it is also just a lot sometimes. So, our theme for this #MindfulnessMonday goes back to what our moms always told us, "you can't dance at every wedding". And of course, this applies to life events in general and not just weddings.
Having friends and family is everything; trying new things and going to new places makes life exciting; expanding our minds and increasing our education can be extremely rewarding; and spending a weekend vegging alone is priceless. But, we can't do it all, all the time. We have to make choices and sometimes they aren't even the ones we want to make, but have to. And we have to realize that, that is just life. We have to learn how to accept the choices we make and know that although we may be missing out on one thing, we are likely gaining another. It is important not to dwell on what we may have missed and focus on what we have gained. Be present exactly where you are. And hey, with today's technology, you can even be present where you physically are not - thanks FaceTime and Snapchat!!
So, the moral of the story is, we can't dance at every wedding and we have to learn to swallow the FOMO and be happy where you are. So, we hope you have a great week of work, class, yoga, running, barbecues, drinks, movies, charity events, bridal showers, baby's first birthday parties etc etc etc. Enjoy your moments wherever that leaves you. Namaste.
Happy Monday! We hope you all enjoyed last week's holidays whether you celebrated Canada Day or July 4th. We really took advantage of our day off and unplugged and we LOVED it! So, that is our topic for today's #MindfulnessMonday.
We all know that all of our lives these days are lived just as much online as they are not online. And it's great. Social media gives us the opportunity to connect with more people than we ever could before and to learn and inspire and be inspired by individuals, brands and world events like never before.
But, as we all know it can become consuming; there comes a point where we find ourselves almost literally glued to our phones. So, every once in a while it is important to unplug and just BE. Be with your friends, be with your surroundings, be with nature and be with yourself. Enjoy moments of laughter and silence and blaring music and concurrent conversations free of hashtags and links and GIFs. When we do this, we realize how nice it can be.
We love being plugged in, but we also really love the feeling of unplugging. It's amazing what we discover when we have our focus on our immediate surroundings.
If you have not done so in a while, we encourage you to do so. It can be as simple as going for a walk without your phone, taking a bath and listening to music or hanging out with friends and leaving your phones behind.
Try it! Have an amazing week, namaste.
