Happy #MindfulnessMonday! Today we want to share a quote by Steven Furtick that has more and more resonance as our worlds become more and more exposed on social media. The quote goes, "The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else's highlight reel." Now isn't that the truth? What do we post on social media? Do we post the pictures where we think we look fat or pale or hunched over? Do we post the photo where we hate our outfit? Where we are arguing with our boyfriend? Where we didn't get the job? That's a resounding NO! We post the photos where we think we look great (with the help of a filter or two), where we're smiling and having a great time somewhere fabulous! We share our highlight reel. All the greatest moments that we make look even greater by sharing them. And so does everyone else. But the truth is, we all have bad days, we all struggle and we all feel like we are not enough. And comparing ourselves to everyone else's filtered versions of themselves doesn't help.
So, we must recognize this. We must remember that we all filter ourselves and that's totally okay. But, be conscious of it. Know that no one really #wokeuplikedis.
Be kind to yourself this week guys! Namaste.
